Code of Conduct
At Open Window Events, we craft immersive worlds where imagination, creativity, and magic flourish. To keep our realms safe and enchanting for all, we follow these guiding stars:
1. Inclusion & Respect
Every soul with kind intent is welcome in our worlds. Discrimination, harassment, offensive language, or exclusion have no place in our enchanted spaces.
If you engage in these behaviors, you may be asked to leave and will not be eligible for a refund.
2. Consent & Personal Boundaries
Consent is the magic that makes connection possible.
Always ask permission to touch a person or their costume, and proceed only if a clear, affirmative “yes” is given.
“No” means no. “Maybe” means no.
The fantastical elements of costumes, props, and altered environments do not negate the need for consent and clear communication.
Speak your boundaries — and honor when others speak theirs. Saying “I’m not comfortable with that,” “Not right now,” or “I’d prefer X instead” are all valid ways to participate while protecting your own space.
The majority of OWE events are designed for adults. In this vein, some gatherings may include invitations for playful connections (such as spin the bottle) or theatrical performances that depict mature themes (including violence or sexuality).
We welcome creative and expressive costuming, but full nudity is not permitted unless otherwise stated.
3. Safety & Harassment-Free Environment
Harassment, intimidation, or unwanted attention break the spell of our gatherings and will not be tolerated.
If your behavior makes others feel unsafe, you may be asked to leave without refund.
If anything feels unsafe, inform a host or staff member — you will be met with care, belief, and action.
4. Respect the Space & Media
Honor the land and venues like treasured realms. Leave no trace of your passage.
Photographers and attendees may capture the magic. By entering the venue, you grant permission to be photographed, filmed, or recorded.
If you prefer not to be featured, let staff know, and we will do our best to honor your wishes.
5. Alcohol & Substances
Magic flows freely, but so do drinks. Please enjoy responsibly and know your limits.
Guests must be 21+ to drink alcohol. Service will be refused to anyone appearing intoxicated.
Never pressure others to drink or partake in substances.
Do not engage in activities under the influence that could put yourself or others at risk.
Guests who appear intoxicated, disruptive, or under the influence of illegal substances will be asked to leave without refund.
Look out for your fellow adventurers — care and consent apply in every part of the realm.
6. Growth & Accountability
At OWE, we value accountability, repair, and learning over punishment alone. This means:
Hosts and staff will intervene when necessary to keep the space safe.
If harm occurs, we aim to address it directly, communicate clearly, and, when possible, provide pathways for repair and learning.
Repeated or severe violations may result in removal from events or from our community spaces entirely.
We are continually working on clear protocols for handling conflict, harm, and repair to strengthen the fabric of our community.
✨ By entering our gatherings, you agree to help protect the magic and weave it with care. ✨
