As part of Occoquan's Swords, Brooms & Magical Beasts Festival, Open Window Events invites you to discover The Traveling Teahouse — a magical teahouse said to appear wherever wonder is needed most.

For one enchanted afternoon, Mamie Davis Park was transformed into a whimsical garden teahouse as Mistea Steeple and her Lorekeepers set up shop in Occoquan. Guests were whisked into an enchanted world, full of lore and history, as they traveled from table to table and kingdom to kingdom.

Lorekeepers—caretakers of the Traveling Teahouse and collectors of magical teas, forgotten recipes, and stories from across the realms— guided guests in an immersive culinary journey through distant lands, introducing each tea's unique origin and sharing the traditions that accompany every brew.

Guests enjoyed:

• a thoughtfully curated flight of exceptional teas from our friends at Leaf & Petal, each inspired by a different fantastical corner of the realm

• handcrafted local chocolates from Potomac Chocolate

• delightful tea sandwiches from Ballywhack Shack Café

• playful activities, inviting participants to become part of the story rather than simply observe it

• fun surprises and treasures to take home

• optional fantasy photoshoot mini-sessions (add-on)

Guests were encouraged to arrive as their magical selves! Fae, elves, witches, wizards, knights, dragon riders, beast tamers, adventurers, scholars, and magical creatures of every kind were welcome within the walls of the Traveling Teahouse.
